Playing With Wordle

I came across this website via In a Minute Ago. It is a fascinating on-line resource for creating word clouds from your own text. The size of the word reflects its frequency in the text and there are options for changing font, colours and layouts. I have had a little play with a long blog post from February and saved it in their gallery here. I could have a lot of fun with this. I see T-shirts, sketchbook covers using text from the notes inside and all sorts of things.

Hi Jane,

Thank you for your sympathies. It is nice to know I’m not the only one with a line around the tummy area of my t-shirts,where I too lean into the countertops after bleaching. It is Murphy’s Law that white tees get the dye spots and black ones get the bleach lines!!!

The ‘Wordle’ could also make nice personal cards, with meaningful themed words. Thanks for sharing.

Hello, I hope you don't mind me dropping in, but I've always loved art and textiles, your blog is really inspirational! I studied textiles many years ago and haven't done much recently, but still enjoy seeing it.

I just wanted to thank you for the link to Wordle :) It's a fantastic little 'toy' for collage inspired art. xx
